This is a real beer! Great to look at, tastes like magic, especially if you have had several already.

I have a friend who travels 500 kms to be able to drink Kent. I wouldn’t go that far but it has a very good body and is just the ticket for a cold, rainy sunday afternoon.

On tap, a fairly smooth inoffensive brown ale, reasonable balance, probably the best beer of Carltons products. Easy to drink.

Thought this came across more as an English Bitter than a Brown Ale still it was enjoyable enough. Brown body with a short but lasting head and layers of lacing. Caramel in the taste as well as being creamy and nuttty.

nutty, dark malts, bit of chocolate, fairly watered down mouthfeel, mothing special, but still nice and worth a try.

On tap at Phin McGoogin’s Irish Bar in Hamilton. Pours light brown with a quick white head. This beer has a very tingly palate. A mild roasted flavor emerges as it warms. I get a bit of pepper on my tongue. A quick finish, but some lingering hops continue. Has a pleasant finishing tartness.

After a sweet lager the thing that hits you most about this beer is the chocolatey taste, once the inital sensation disappears though you’re left with a pretty average brown ale. Good non-confrontational winter evening beer.
