| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Nov 1, 2009 Hazy gold pour, thin white head fizzles away. Vanilla extract and oak marry poorly, leaving an overly sweet, cloying, bourbon nose. Overly sweet, hot flavor of malt and bourbon. Way too simple, thin, and un-enjoyable.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 30, 2009 On tap at Vintage Estate. Light oaky aroma, bit of toffee, lightly sweet with no hops. Vanilla and oak shine through. Medium amber clear with thin foamy head. Medium body with medium carbonation - smooth. Starts sweet with great bourbon and oak flavors - like bourbon and soda. Not overly complex but really nice bourbon taste. Smooth sweet finish with light smoke and a dry after. Watery overall, but that impression comes from thinking like I was drinking a watered down bourbon drink, not a beer. cheapdark (2050), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Dec 12, 2009 On tap at the Vintage Estates, nice place. Big foamy head. Crystal clear yellow. Slight off aroma; a little vomity, but in a beery way. Plastic flavors. Astrigent and bold. Artificial at times. Weird and ropey finish. NJBeerman013 (786), Trenton, New Jersey, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 27, 2009 Bottle a friend brought me back from a recent trip to KY. Poured a copper penny color with a fairly pure white head. The aroma is pure malt with a strong dosing of vanilla and oak. Flavor is much of the same with a small touch of citrusy hops. It has a creamy mouthfeel without the heaviness. Finish is sweet and warm with a touch of the alcohol. I really enjoyed this. GG (1682), NorCal, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 23, 2009 Another beer sent to me by bluesandbarbq (thanks Lou!) on a small trade. This one was a really nice beer, but didn’t resemble much of an amber ale, but it picked up a ton of the bourbon characteristics. Perhaps using a style as weak as an amber ale was the whole reason behind this beer, and it really worked. The aroma is huge bourbon notes, vanilla, some soft caramel, and very light alcohol notes. Body is the color of cream soda, clear with a rocky off-white cap. Flavor is bourbon and apple juice, some buttered bread with a ton of sweetness still there. If you are looking to get a fix of a bourbon beer, this fits the bill nicely. minch25 (370), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 10, 2009 Clear orange body; minimal head. Aroma - bourbon barrel, oranges. Light hoppy bitterness; wood. Lots of bourbon in flavor, of course. Very light carbonation. Tasty, quite powerful. It’s a little bit simple and one dimensional, but I still think this is a little underrated. Clear amber in color, thin white head. Aroma of vanilla, bourbon, and oak. Mouth was smooth and relatively light. Bourbon is noticeable, but there was a strong vanilla taste with it. Very drinkable for the ABV. ratman197 (3273), Arvada, Colorado, USA
