garthicus (550), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Nov 8, 2007 Updated: Nov 10, 2007Bottle purchased in Kenya and drank in Ireland - Small head, not too much carbonation, very light yellow colour, grassy-sweet aroma, very sweet flavour, sticky almost with a bitter sweet finish, not unpleasant, not terrific either Sully (1363), Woolloomooloo, New South Wales, Australia Jan 8, 2006 Well, this one didn’t have the honour of being tasted on the night. Fhings were winding up and there was a bit of a flurry of swapping. I am sure highlandlad ended up with my can of Archa from Thailand and if so there is a bit of equity apart from the size of the bottle/can. In this case I am the one who has been wronged because I got 500ml of this stuff. Yep, it is everything you would expct from a Kenyan pale lager. Cereal by the packet load, high gas content, astringent taste and a metallic bitterness. (Sully’s backyard, Longueville) highlandlad (1189), Sydney, Australia Sep 27, 2005 Updated: Oct 20, 2005One of the more obscure Kenyan lagers - which is why I brought one back for the Australian RateBeer Christmas gathering, you lucky people... Or maybe not. It looks good, pale gold with a lasting CO2 head. However, the sugary aroma is all corn starch, with faint honey notes. Standard lager palate. Flavourwise, it again shows honey but it’s way too sweet, like sugar water seasoned with corn. (Simon Fraser’s verandah, Nairobi)
