The aroma suggested a sweet and spicy Belgian Ale. There was a quite sour/bitter aspect to the taste, along with a a nice spice and sweet malt. Really smooth with almost no alcohol presence. Quite nice. footbalm (1219), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 5, 2008 Handbottle from IrishBoy. Brownish amber slightly foggy with a thin cream colored head. Aroma is a light clove spiciness, yeast, caramel, and toffee. Taste is caramel, light yeastiness, dried fruit, light alcohol. Pretty decent example of a belgian strong coming from a US brewery. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 17, 2008 Growler from the brewpub; Nose of sweet cloves, caramel, and light yeastiness; hazy copper with a medium beige head; flavor has the corriander, some mild hop bitterness, and caramelized sugary taste. Finish has a bit of hops. Alcohol completely covered. Good quality BSA but not great, I am waiting to see what the brett-chardonnay BA version is like? That one could be superb!
