Commercial Description:
“Not for the Timid” There is nothing traditional about Class V Stout. It is a sweet stout that is characterized by its dark chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt aromas and flavors. It has a higher alcohol content of 8%, so don’t let the smooth taste fool you; this beer is “Not for the Timid!”

Bottle from South Bay Drugs: In the nose, an instant gratification of dark roasted malts and a faint Arabic coffee aroma in the background is a good first impression. Once poured, I could tell no head was going to develop, so I gave it a more violent pour to create some head. After, head formed it was a gentle patch of khaki colored foam while the liquid was a solid dark brown color almost black. The flavor is of a slightly sweet dark chocolate with a taste of a premium coffee bean, and has perfectly roasted malt that enriches the cocoa elements further.

Served from a 12oz bottle that I picked up at Hi-Time. Pours a rich brown black with a micro off white head. Flavors and aromas are sugary malts, lactose, chocolate. The mouth is a little thin and watery but the flavors are nice.

Bottle thanks to danielcurtis81 on his wedding week. Pours pitch black with some unfilteredness. Nose is mostly sweet chocolate malt. Taste is thin an smooth without much depth. Decently pleasing flavor of chocolate and sweet malt, but nothing that excites.

Almost black with a rich tan head. Nice dry black malt, espresso coffee aromas. Rich, smooth mouthfeel. Good flavor mixes roasty blackened malts with dark chocolates. Nicely bitter finish. Classic American stout

Pours a pitch black color that’s almost completely opaque with the slightest dark mahogany edges when held to a light source. Frothy two finger light beige head with good retention that slowly fades into a lasting cap. Sporadic splotches of lacing coats the glass. Deep roasty malt aroma with hints of coffee, toffee, oatmeal, caramel, alcohol, burnt toast chocolate and a nice amount of hop bitterness. Hop forward for an impy stout with a smooth creamy full body with a lot of roasty malt, silky chocolate notes, caramel notes, burnt toast, oatmeal, licorice, coffee, toffee and a pretty prominent hop presence that creates a slightly dry finish. The ABV is very well masked making this a pretty quaffable impy stout.
