Commercial Description:
“Not for the Timid” There is nothing traditional about Class V Stout. It is a sweet stout that is characterized by its dark chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt aromas and flavors. It has a higher alcohol content of 8%, so don’t let the smooth taste fool you; this beer is “Not for the Timid!”

Bottle shared at Cbus Tasting 11. Pour was black. Aroma was roasted coffee. Flavor was sweet chocolate, sweet malts, and coffee. Caught a hint of vanilla and fruit. I love sweet stouts and this one was very drinkable and much enjoyed.

Thanks for sharing a bottle, iowaherekeye. The black body was topped with an orange brown head. The aroma was strong coffee and dark chocolate. There was also some chocolate chip pancakes. The taste was plums and light coffee. There was also some burnt pancakes. A nice stout, even though the bomber was a little underfilled.

22oz bomber, no date from IrishBoy, thanks Richard! Black with 1/2 finger beige head, fair to good retention. Lots of milk chocolate, roast, and brown sugar toffee up front. A bit of vanilla and hints of alcohol round out the aroma. Flavor is a bit more roasty, though not overly so. Vanilla and brown sugar are there to keep the roast from getting acidic, and some added piney hops help round everything out. Semi-dry finish with bitterness peaking at a 2-3. Full body with low to moderate creamy carbonation. The flavor actually got an 8 1/2, but I ended up adding it to the overall score.

some nice roasted malt flavors and aromas though I think the sweetness detracts from the possible malt complexity? or maybe that is just me....thanks irishboy!

Bottle from odeed. Thanks man! Mahogany pour with a big brown head. Aroma is coffee and roast malt. Didn’t get much chocolate. It also had a earthy/leathery quality. Flavor is bitter coffee and chocolate. Just a tad thin, but still nice brew!

Bottle courtesy of Miketd. Pours black with a tan head. Smells like hops, is earthy, malty, roasty, and smooth. Medium to light mouthfeel. Tasted smooth, chocolate, coffee, roasty, and smooth again. Overall not a bad brew and had this earthy aroma and taste throughout that was interesting.

Thanks to Irishboy for bringing this to the Alesmith Release Party line tasting. Dark head on this dark pour. Aromas of chocolate, coffee, and roasted malts. Flavors were similar with burnt malts making and entrance for the finish. Pretty tasty

Appearance: Pours a black body with a thin, quickly dissipating off-white head. Smell: Dark malt aroma with notes of chocolate, licorice, and roasted grains. Taste: Dark maltiness with a high degree of roastiness and a solid semi-sweet chocolate flavor. Hint of licorice. Some earthy hop bitterness, but the roast really provides the balance to the medium sweetness. Touch of acidity. Dry finish with a lingering roastiness. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: It is quite a solid stout, and who could say "no" to that mule mascot of theirs?
