Commercial Description:
“Not Just any Blonde” The Kern River flows into Lake Isabella less then one mile south of Kernville, Ca. This Blonde Ale has an easy malt body and a mild hop aroma produced by traditional English hops. The light straw color and crisp finish make this an easy drinking beer that’s great for those hot summer days. If you are looking for great taste and good times, don’t settle for just any blonde, choose Isabella Blonde!

Draft at the brewpub; Nose of light hops, caramel, and some wheaty breadiness; golden with a small white head; flavor shows light caramel, grain, and light hop bitterness in the light to medium body, with light hops lasting to the finish! Not a bad Blonde!

I had this on tap in early January at the brewpub. A 4-5 ounce sample was had. Nice hoppy nose with some spicy, herbal, and metallic hop aromas present. A little cereal maltiness is also in there. Transparent golden body with a small, white head and scant lacing present. Biting, spicy, hoppy start. Nice and flavorful with cereal graininess later on. Finishes with more herbal hop bitterness. Nice stuff. *Addendum* I am a bit perplexed regarding the low scores with this beer. It may be a blonde bias or a brewer change or something, but this is a very enjoyable brew.

Hazy light brown. Doughy, light herbal hops aroma. Crisp malty flavor with slight bitterness and herbal hops flavor. Puzzling ratings here, this was quite good.

22oz bomber from Imbibe. Clear golden with a one finger off-white head, pretty good retention. Aromas of biscuity malts and grassy hops. Flavor follows suit with kinda of a sweaty citrus addition. Finish is lightly bitter and biscuity. Light body with light carbonation. Would’ve liked a little more carbonation, but this is a solid blonde nonetheless.

Bottle from South Bay Drugs: Poured a clear and golden straw blonde color with a thin half inch of head. There is a fresh and organic aroma true to a blonde style, and I say that because of the balance of cracked grain malt and a grassy hop. The flavor is clean and crisp with a slight sweetness of malts and a minimum amount of organic green hops. This is by far the best blonde I have tasted, but then again only some breweries care to make this style and their recipes are usually boring.

Bomber courtesy of Odeed poured a lightly hazy gold with a small dim inishing white head. Aromas of straw, earthiness, light spice and a hint of citrus. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a lightly dry finish. Flavors of straw, biscuit, light earthiness and hints of citrus and spice with a crisp lightly dry lingering lightly bitter finish. Would be a great session beer on a hot day!
