iowaherkeye (1832), Bakersfield, California, USA Aug 29, 2009 On tap @ the brewpub. Clear medium amber with a 1 1/2 finger yellowish white creamy head, good retention--served in a goblet. Aroma of sweet caramel and candi sugar, some vanilla, oak, and light coconut--not very wine-like thus far--seems more like new oak to me. Also some light pear and a hint of earth is present. Flavor is much the same, though there is now a tinge of tangy grapes. Semi-dry with bitterness around a 2. Lightcarbonation with a light to medium body. Good beer! Talking to the brewer he said that the pinot has really mellowed over the last few months. IrishBoy (2685), Bakersfield, California, USA Jun 12, 2009 Draft at the brewpub. Nose of light oak, light amounts of wine, light corriander, and light floral hops. Lightly hazy yellow amber with a small off white head. Flavor is caramel, oak, light wine notes, light peppery spices, and light bitterness lasting to the finish.
