Orange-brown with a dense head. Spicy aroma: cinnamon and anis plus a burned smokey note. The flavour is sweet caramel-like, again with the smoked notes in the background.

Bottle at Kolding Ølmesse. Pours a copper-golden body with a nice beige head on top. Dusty, chalky nose with hops and a fruityness. Malty sweetness as well. The flavor isn’t as dusty and chalky as the aroma, and has a more pronounced, yet not pushing spicyness. Full bodied and sweetish, almost sticky. Some bitterness in the finish. Quite nice, but there are quite a few better Christmas beers on the Danish market. (080229)

Bottle: Hazy, deep amber coloured, stable creamy yellowish head; rich flavour: liquorice, cough syrup and hops (in the background); initially sweet, later drier medical-bitter flavour; lingering ashy bitterness in the aftertaste. A very special brew....

Red/brown with a huge, creamy head. Both the aroma and the flavour have notes of malt, caramel, yeast, spice, clove, anise and raisin, and the flavour has a light bitterness. In spite of all the notes, it seems like they haven’t been stirred together in the right way, it’s OK, but ordinary... 1772

The third beer from Papsoe me and ozujsko drank yesterday
Poured a pretty murky orange-brown colour with a small thick creamy beige head that stayed there all the time. Lovely herbal nose, orange candy, some weak roastiness. The taste was a letdown after that. Typical (it would seem) earthy/coffee roastey mixed with peppermint and something else I can’t decypher from my notes. Weak weak smoke that didn’t work all that well for me. Did so well on the appearance and in the nose, but failed in flavor.
