| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 24, 2009 Can: Dark copper/light amber pour with a nice creamy sandy head. Smells of citrus and tropical fruity sweetness. Piney too. Good amount of citrus up front in the tastes with a smoother, maltier backbone. Lingering floral bitters in the tail. Well balanced and flavorful. Just lacks a bit in intensity and that keeps the score from being higher. Still a great brew! SledgeJr (3004), Omaha, Nebraska, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 11, 2009 In the tallboy can from Tim W. Pours a dark amber with a very large yellowish off-white head. The aroma is outstanding: fresh citrus and grassy hops. The flavor has enough of a serious alpha content to make SN Celebration fans happy. Great grapefruit and orange fruitiness blended with the strong bitter palate. This is again a thick malty beer similar to the Cold Smoke. I would love to have more of this. timmy300 (199), bloomington, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 18, 2009 slightly catty, grapefruity flavor lacking the proper malt scaffold to balance the flavor. it is however dry and poundable. along with being the best bang for the buck at the mammoth employee pub. appearance marks are due to the cool can. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 20, 2008 Clear orange. Big head. Soft steady hop scent, slightly spicy. Hop flavour is twice as strong as the aroma. Solid light woody notes. Slow but steady march to a mouth drying finisth. A hint of varnish. doubleo (1121), San Diego, California, USA

Smells malty sweet nutty with some grassy hops. Tastes sweet malty but with a nice balance of bitter citrus hops on the finish. Lingering bitterness. Medium body, crisp carbonation. blazingspiral (39), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA

deep gold/amber, slightly hazy, with a frothy head.
it smelled bitter, but the aroma lacked the artful fruity or floral notes of a superb IPA.
taste was satisfying, with strong hops. balance was a little off -- it could have used a sweeter malt base -- but it really hit home for a hophead such as myself.
some lime and grapefruit flavors attempted to assert themselves. overall, the bitterness had a more earthy, herbal quality.
as the pint diminished, the bitter finish continued to assault my palate. if you like that sort of thing, then definitely try this brew when visiting beautiful Montana.
it’s also cool that they can this brew, and I look forward to tasting it that way. ogglethorp (890), Ohio, USA
