Commercial Description:
Hellgate Honey Hefeweizen is a smooth drinker for those hot summer days. The honey helps boost the alcohol content while also adding a floral bouquet to the nose. Yeast is left in the beer to add body (creamy mouth feel in beer geek’s terms) head retention and stability (another beer geek term), and a slight haziness. All to let you know that you’re drinking a fresh locally made beer that is still alive! 6% abv; 16 IBUs

On tap at the brewery. This reddish gold beer poured with a modest off-white head and a floral aroma. The wheat flavor is sweet with a tangy finish.

Pours nearly clear dark gold with a lacy white head. Honey and fruit nose. Medium light body, moderate carbonation. Taste mirrors the nose. Crisp honey-edged finish.

On draught at the brewery’s taproom in Missoula, Montana. Pours a hazy golden amber brew with a fast dissolving white head the leaves behind a white ring. Aroma of multi-grain breakfast cereal, honey with some citrus hoppy scents. Taste is light carbonated, bready malt with some citrus flavors. Finish has some sweet malt character than then clean in the aftertaste. This is more of a light American Wheat beer though it is labeled as a Hefeweizen.

Draught at the Brewpub: Hazy blonde color, light head and lacing. Nose of husky wheat, light honey. Boo. the flavor is dull, chewy and enriched with bad karma. Eh, finishes creamy, not my thing.

intensely spicy and slight creamy aroma, nice cloudy yellow, lots bitter orange peel, creamy and soft, and a honey finish Winnie the Pooh would love
