Keweenaw Aishas Oatmeal Stout

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear ruby-cornered mahogany. Thick rim in middle tan. Nutty nose, backed with distinct house yeast. Tangy. Flavor comes forth with thin coffee-like flavors. Nutty. Very nutty. The beer this most resembles to me is Newcastle. Full-bodied? Thats a joke. This beer has some interesting flavors, with the oats coming through and some solid roast and nutty character, but theres no body to keep up with it! No creaminess, no density, no chewiness. Ive had lambics with more body than this oatmeal stout. Flavors just cant keep their intensity in the face of little alcohol, little residual sugars and a lot of water. Meh.
