I get it on tap at the KBC in downtown Houghton, maybe it makes a difference. The bitter finish and slightly sweet taste in the middle. troyc (1175), Lubbock, Texas, USA

I thought that the line might not have been cleaned all the way, but judging by the previous comments, I think it’s the beer. Sour/bitter aftertaste with little aroma. I’m glad I tried it, but not worth drinking again. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA

Clear light amber with a faint dying head....nose totally overrun with diacetyl, alas; when it warms a bit you can barely detect some faint grassy tones but mostly its just butterscotch....on the tongue a bit of apple sweetness promises....no, the middle is more buttery goo, with the finish dry and bitter and increasingly sour....really off and just not good at all. redlem (1155), Illinois, USA

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jan 2, 2006 Updated: Jul 7, 2006On tap at the brewpub. Rating is a combination of different experiences with the beer and some brief descriptions. Golden yellow pour with a very thin head. Lightly floral hop aromas that aren’t nearly as fragrant as most pale ales. Flavors are stale and extra grainy relative to the hops. The finish is bold and plenty bitter with hops, but doesn’t deliver the same citrus or piney flavors that other hop varieties and/or beers may offer.
