A growler of Malt Liquor?! Oh my... Bright gold color with a large and foamy head. Pretty incredible aroma of bread and alcohol. If I didn’t know what it was, I’d have guessed a Belgian! The taste is incredibly yeasty and spicy. Lots of malt and hops to form a good base. What the fudge? This is a Malt Liquor I would actually consume willingly, although not a full pint... Kudos to the brewer and CharlesDarwin for bringing the glory!

Original rating 3-19-2005. On tap at the brewpub. Hazy almond pour, with diminished head and no lacing. Strong aroma of strawberries. Light cheese, with cocoa and strawberry flavors. Finishes smooth, silky and a little creamy. Fantastic malt. Can Malt Liquors be this good? The hops balance speaks of a good barleywine. 7/3/7/3/16

Re-rating 5-16-2008. On tap at the brewpub. Pours a pale blond, with growing white head. Uh oh, this looks different. Aroma is a skunk. Creamy malts and creamed corn. Flavor confirms the worst. This tastes like corn. A TOTALLY different recipe. There’s a dense, flavorless malt, minerals, a bit of smooth yeast and DMS. Corn backs up the malt flavor. Why is this worth drinking now? It’s just as bad as most Malt Liquors. The previous rendition had great flavors and was interesting and clean. This isn’t worth the water I pee out after drinking it. 5/3/4/2/10
