Dark pour with some streaks of head. Slight vegetable aroma, with a hint of chocolate. Flavor really isn’t there. Maybe some molasses and nuts. Mouthfeel is very light. This beer is like the dark version of coors light, but not as bad as that sounds.

Dec 5, 2009 Can. Pour is clear dark dark brown with small off white head. Aroma is roasted malt, faint coffee, light spice, and distant hop. Flavor is nice roasted malt, light coffee, faint rye-like component, and a crisp finish. I liked it, a bit thin on the palate but otherwise solid.

Oct 7, 2009 OK, this stuff is good. Not great. Much lighter taste than the hue would imply. But I would definitely slam some of these if I had some in front of me right now. I don’t so I can’t. In these troubled times our age-old friend Blatz is always there for you, so if I were you (I’m not) that’s what I would stick to.
Think about it.

Sep 19, 2009 Pours black to a very dark brown, Tan head goes fast. the aroma of yeast hits me first with a slight nuttyness not much aroma. Very light taste but the commecial description already knows it is light tasting. it seems that I like the appearance of all beers.

Sep 11, 2009 Can. Pours a black with brown hue, thick creamy tane head, lots of lacing, very thin head is retained for most of drink. Aroma is of roasted malt, smoke, grain, molasses, caramel, and dried dark slightly tart fruit. First few sips were very pleasant and originally I had this rated higher, but as I finished this beer, it started to wear on me quickly. Drinkable, but just something is a bit off. Not bad, but good would be an overstatement.

Sep 11, 2009 Dark brown color with a moderate, stable, tight bubbled light tan head. Nice lace. Light aromas of toasted malt, grain, and mollasses. Light and crisp feel. Nearly too clean in the flavors. The start has a hint of pale malt that seems to evaporate into a light, very light roasted and toasted malt liquid. This is definately a dark brew that does not intimidate in flavor. Very easy to drink. If anything perhaps a bit too simple. I certainly can not find any brewing faults in this one.

Sep 10, 2009 Can from siciliano’s. Dark brown, almost opaque black with creamy beige head. Aroma is dry roast, nuttiness and light smoke. Flavor is a little bit sweeter roast, some purple fruit, tobacco, some smoke, nice. Light and watery with light carbonation. Nice but body detracts.
