heipet (3), Denmark does not count Sep 22, 2006 Bottle: Amber color, lightl thin head. Nose is a bit oxidized with malty caramel notes. The flavor is a bit unbalanced, some bitterness and light sweetness and a thin body. I had expected more for a beer that I had brought all the way home from my vaction in the States. kenb (1100), Oregon, USA Sep 21, 2006 Updated: Sep 26, 200912 OZ Bottle via trade with Decaturstevo (thanks!). Pours a clear amber color with an average size dense white head. Mild floral aroma with some sweet orange and caramel notes. Hmm, starts out a little hoppy and finishes sweet, just the opposite of most beers i have had lately. Quite interesting. Thin bodied and a bit watery. Aftertaste is fleeting. Would consider this a decent session bear. All in all-very average.
9/26/09 rerate-12 oz bottle via Mys Swap 40 (thanks daknole!)Pours a semi clear amber with a small off white head. Nose is musty with some toastiness. Taste is toasted malts, a little chocolate, and some mutes almonds with a bit of a chalky dry finish. Body is medium, carbonation is medium as well. Almost ok.. Suttree (2701), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Aug 20, 2006 Orange, thin white head. Aroma is very faint, but mostly sweetish, maybe a bit toasty. Bready, toasty flavor. Not much bitterness at all. Rather watery and bland. decaturstevo (1971), decatur, Tennessee, USA Aug 16, 2006 Golden/amber pour. An aroma of malt and light hops. A flavor of slightly sweet malt and a nice finishing bitter that is pleasant. A nice drinker. Numenor (869), Richmond, Virginia, USA Aug 14, 2006 Thanks to my SecretSanta Degarth for sending this my way. Light amber body with a thin, quickly diminishing white head. Malty aroma, some light sugar sweetness and maybe a light fruit. Somewhat caramel based taste, very light hops. Sweet, unoffensive ending. maniac (2628), Richmond, Virginia, USA Aug 14, 2006 Clear light amber body with a small white head. Sweet malty and light caramel aroma. Sweet malt, more caramel, and some light grassy hops. Wolfenstein (96), Sarasota, Florida, USA Jul 27, 2006 Enjoyed at several locales on Duval. Nice, easy drinkin’ ale. Some light caramel in the malt, especially at the sweet finish. bhensonb (4181), Woodland, California, USA Jul 20, 2006 Thanks to Susie G. for flying this in from Florida. Aroma is light malt with a bit of yeast. Decent medium gold color with a light tan head which lasts longer than many. Starts and finishes with malt. Strange hint of chocolate (or carob) in the middle. There is some bitterness at the finish. I’ll take it over most any popular mass produced American lager, and won’t pour it down the drain. For a blonde ale it is fine. I could use less malt and more hop, but there’s room for all in the ale realm.
