Cask @ Gallows Bird, Espoo. Dark brown with not much of a head at all. Coffeeish aroma of roasted malt with some notes of chocolate. Roasted malt with definitely some coffee in the flavour. Feels a bit watery, otherwise quite ok.

Cask @ National Winter Ales Festival 2009, Manchester. Pours a very dark almost black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty coffee aroma with some fruity hints. Roasted malty coffee flavor with a slightly thin mouthfeel. Has a roasted malty coffee finish.

Cask (Guide Dog, Southampton) - Very dark brown with some red tinges when held to the light. Roasted malt aroma with fruit and coffee. Chocolate and roasted malt with some coffee in the taste. I was expecting but more but it’s not bad.

Bottle at home ... Deep black with a nice head ... light roast malt ...quite sweet up front with lots of roast and some coffee .. a little odd flavour that i ant place that stops it being a great porter but its still pretty respectable.

Cask (gravity dispense), St Albans Beer Festival, September 2007. Fairly dark brown with no head to speak of. Quite roasty with a noticeable coffee presence. A nice porter, although a little let down by a rather thin mouthfeel. I’d ceratinly drink this one again though.

A Sim rate (cask at St Albans BF): Damn. Smells exactly like a proper espresso... one my dad would make. Very slightly sweet. Flavour also very coffee with a bit too much bitterness. Very watery palate which is a shame as it’s such a lovely aroma and flavour. Flavour has a tinge of soy sauce or hoi sin. So so good.

Gravity Cask @ Royal Oak Beer Festival. Liquoricey roast and light sour fruit with toastiness and tangy bittersweet finish.

Cask-conditioned at the Royal Oak, Bath 28/9/07. Dark brown with a decent tan head that left plenty of lacing. Aroma of chocolate and dark fruit. Flavour had plenty of malt, chocolate and a slightly roasted edge. Good.
