Dark maroon with medium tan head. Caramel aroma with big sweet smooth taste and decent malt. A bit sweet for my taste, but still a decent beer.

Bottle at Brasserie Beck in Washington, DC. Nice caramel brown pour with a slightly red tint. Tan head. Sweet dark fruit aroma with caramel malts. Flavor of brown sugar, molasses, Belgian candy sugar, cherries. Nice, but there are so many better tripels out there.

Swigs of Octo’s, Cambrinus. Big yeasty snout dragging in dusty cocoa, In De Vrede, nuts, molasses. Sharp, sweet and toasted with nuts, sesame, praline. Poor man’s Westy. No hint of the underlying alcoholic power. Impressive, one to seek out again...

Bottle: Poured a dark brown with a red tint, head is beige. Aroma is sweet dark fruits and caramel malts. Taste is filled with fruit yet has a suttle sugary malt. This balances it off a bit and provides a very tasty beer.

Served on tap in a goblet at Brasserie Beck in Washington D.C. Listed on the menu as a double-triple, listed here at a Quad. What is it really? Translucent, dark brown with a creamy slightly tan head. Smells like a quad. tons of sugar and malts, Belgian dark candy, Belgian yeasts, dark fruits. Flavor was similar, dark sugar, molasses, chewy malts, toffee, raisins, bananas, Belgian yeast. A little more than medium bodied, slightly chalky and sweet. If it called itself a quad it might be a little less confusing.
