| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 23, 2008 Tap @ Ginger Man. Poured a clear deep cherry wood color with a beige head. Sweet aroma with notes of plums and figs. The flavor is also sweet with dark fruits but drys slightly. Medium bodied with a silky feel on the tongue. Good warmth with zero alcohol flavor or aroma. Tasty and very drinkable but not on the level of the top ones. LilBeerDoctor (1530), East Setauket, New York, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Jun 22, 2008 On tap at the Ginger Man. Pours a deep red with a small head. Aroma of raisin, dark fruits. Flavor of Belgian yeast, alcohol, honey. Very hot and gets worse as it warms. Very sweet as well, a real sugary, alcoholic mess. Reminds me of mead or Kasteel Brune. | 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jun 22, 2008 On tap at Ginger Man. Aroma of light asphalt, musty grass, caramelized fruits, medicinal fruits. In the mouth, medicinal fruits dominate. Not pleasant, and not even interesting enough to get a few giveaway points. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 20, 2008 On draft at Brick Store. Pours a dark garnet brown with billowy, beige head. Quite a strange aroma, most reminiscent of muscadine grapes, with a barnyard hop character. Starts sweet and comples like a dubbel with notes of figs, dark candi sugar, and brandy before morphing unusually into a dry, straw-like hop finish. Definitely an unusual beer, but pleasant in small quantities. JoeMcPhee (5030), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 15, 2008 Tap at Ginger Man. Deep brown beer with light garnet highlights. Aroma is fairly fruity with a light plumminess. Soft candied sweetness with lots of cotton candy and very light brown sugar. A hint of date/plum sweetness, but nothing overpowering at all. Lightly peppery with a light alcoholic bite. Noble hops seems to play a pretty strong role in both the aroma and the flavour of this one but they integrate pretty well with the light fruit and soft malts. Vaguely licoricey. A bit of orange-peel and berryish fruits. Quite light-bodied really. It’s okay, but not great.
