Nov 25, 2007 Superioir strong beer, extra smooth taste. It certainly lives up to the name, a really hard hitting, palatable beer.

Dec 2, 2007 This beer was available at an incredibly low overstock price of $3 a 750 ml. bottle at Green’s, so I could not resist. Poured into a Champagne flute, the beer looked a bit darker gold than the real thing, and the carbonation was far less forceful. There wasn’t much of a head to speak of. The aroma was sweet and yeasty with a little black pepper and anise thrown in for good measure. The taste was sweet and tart. There wasn’t much bitterness, but the palette was quite dry after each sip. Not packed with flavor, but definitely resembled Champagne quite a bit in taste. The mouthfeel was medium full and aided by a carbon dioxide tingle. Not a bad beer at all as it serves its intended purpose as an aperitif quite well. The whole experience was made even more pleasurable as I consider the hefty discount I received.

Jul 5, 2008 BOttle from londis. pours orange, golden, with a large white head that goes away really fast and leaves no trace. nose is grapefruit, bubblegum, hairspray, pine, citrus, and lemonrind. really sweet but there is balance. better than expected. nose is barnyardy, earth funk.

Aug 31, 2007 Bottle at home ... Crisp golden yellow ... Mellow fruity slightly belgian hop nose ... nice crisp clean but more a mellow belgian triple than a lager ... and from my tasting much better than the 24th percentile its currently sitting at.

Sep 17, 2007 Pours a slightly hazed gold with a big white head that falls very fast. Nose is clean with a citrus tone to it. Faint yeast. Flavor is more towards the beer side. Hops and an almost pasty doughy yeasty kind of thing. It almost borders on the texture of pepto bismol...well...that is what comes to mind when it is in my mouth. But it isn’t nasty like that. Feel is slightly thick with carbonation. This is extremely drinkable. A very good brew in my opinion. However. If you are looking to try what is the best example of this new style(Champagne lager), I would go with Deus, hands down. It may be two or three times the price, but I think it is two or three times better.
