Flavor of some hops with corn and malt. Smooth and very drinkable. Even though it’s dark, it’s still a thin light beer. Better than most lights. Shagnasty (130), Rochester, New York, USA

The real reason to try this beer is the unique taste. Starts off as a thin darker beer, and ends very sweet, not malty but similar to syrup. Definitely much better than most other light beers. A smooth nice tasting beer. Pretty good actaully shadey (1500), Rochester, New York, USA

I haven’t gotten a big enough gut to take Light beers seriously but when I do, I will go back and check out Kipling. andy609 (143), Auburndale, Massachusetts, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Aug 1, 2003 Hm,a dark light beer. I like the concept. Could this be the light beer that proves light beers aren't all bad after all? Brown to amber in color with an unattractive head of large bubbles. Some lacing. Smells like a typical American Standard Lager. Some hops, perhaps a little corn too. Thin, thin, thin! Actually very tasty despite the thin body. The thin body gives it away the fact that it's a light, but you've got to give it credit for having a full flavor. Hoppy up front with bona fide malts in the middle. Strange roasty finish. | 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Dec 31, 2003 Amber color. Lighter aroma of some wierd hops, maybe corn. Flavor was syrupy and finished with this odd roasty and grainy flavor. Good for a light, but it is still a light. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Jan 1, 2004 Dark orange, almost red, deep for a light, medium quick-dying head. Nose very light, corny-sweet, inoffensive. Flavor/body buttery-smooth, maybe butterscotchy, but fairly bland; again, corn. No hops whatsoever. Above average for style. dirtymike (2018), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA
