Jan 30, 2007 A touch of straw color, balsa wood and yes, good call Jordan...dried fruit as well as almonds. Yep, very clean, this dryness and flavor pattern seem to be the norm for Niigata region sake, Hyogo is similar. I’m partial to the fruitier flavors from the far north. This is still good, and I will save half the bottle to have heated later. Glad you enjoyed it & thanks for adding it to the DB!

Sep 4, 2006 300mL Bottle: Faint egg shell white with spotty legs, not full enough. The nose is clean and chalky with some light dried fruit; apricot, koji, gruel, light grain and dry dessert flowers. The flavor is a bit dry with a moisture sucking finish. A nice clean body and tail, but it’s just a bit too dry to be enjoyable. I really want to love it though! Decent sake though, some umami as it warms. Thanks IslandHaole!
