Commercial Description:
This is a classic, American-Style pale ale that displays all of the complex bitterness and aroma from the hops of the Yakima Valley in Washington State. By using a top-fermenting ale yeas strain we bring out the floral and herbal flavor profiles. A clean, malty body is developed from the pale and light caramel malt. ABV 5.4% Bitterness 35 IBU. Contract brewed under the brewer name Hopfen Und Malz for Costco by Gordon Biersch Brewing Company.

Gold. White carbonation. Grassy hops, crisp malt. Tastes more like a hoppy pale lager than a pale. Decent.

Bottle: Pours a clear gold color with a light head. The nose is lightly hoppy with a touch of floralness and grainy malt. Thin body but a light cascade note in the flavor. Vague mouthfeel like pennies and a boring finish.

Serving: 12 oz. bottle. Appearance: Amber gold with an okay, frothy, white head. Less than average head retention. Aroma: Grains, some floral and perfume notes. Not very inspiring. Taste: Malt forward with a smaller dose of hops. Clearly the intention was not to offend anyone with any actual flavor. Mission accomplished. Malt sweetness, grains, and light floral notes from the hops. Palate: Medium carbonation with a medium mouthfeel and a medium short finish. Overall: About what I was expecting. Again, they are going for a very broad market, not those of us here. Muted flavors but decent drinkability and it isn’t offensive. Skip it though.

12 oz bottle. Pours a dark golden color with a soapy head and lacing. Aroma is light citrus and floral hops with some caramel malt. Flavor is the same, with a very soapy finish. Not a very good beer.

Pine and sweet citrus in the aroma after cracking the cap. Transparent ambery gold. Mild malts throw the focus to restrained hops. Bitter enough to notice, but won’t overpower. Some lemon, mint and pine in the flavour. Decent, easy to drink.

Bottle from the KIRKLAND Costco, thanks scrizz! Pours clear dark gold with a lacy white head. A little citrus, toffee and flowers in the aroma. Minimal body and carbonation. The taste kinda grainy and just lays there. Perfumy and lightly soapy finish. Starts out in a promising way, but things begin to go south in a hurry. This the kind of APA that argues in favor of pale lagers.

Aroma is faint, with a hint of perfumey floral hops and light malt notes as well. Pours clear and gold with a really decent head and surprisingly good lace. Pale malts up front with some sweetness and a decent perfumey finish. A hint metallic, but when consumed with food, the metal goes away and the hops cleanse the palate Smooth and actually my favorite one of the four.
