Commercial Description:
This is a classic, American-Style pale ale that displays all of the complex bitterness and aroma from the hops of the Yakima Valley in Washington State. By using a top-fermenting ale yeas strain we bring out the floral and herbal flavor profiles. A clean, malty body is developed from the pale and light caramel malt. ABV 5.4% Bitterness 35 IBU. Contract brewed under the brewer name Hopfen Und Malz for Costco by Gordon Biersch Brewing Company.

Aroma is faint, with a hint of perfumey floral hops and light malt notes as well. Pours clear and gold with a really decent head and surprisingly good lace. Pale malts up front with some sweetness and a decent perfumey finish. A hint metallic, but when consumed with food, the metal goes away and the hops cleanse the palate Smooth and actually my favorite one of the four.

Bought at the Kirkland Costco. Odd, this one also smells kinda rancid like the German Hef did, but not as powerful. Nice clear gold and a strong tall white head that fell awkwardly in stages. Malty, chewy and not bad until you get to the finish where it seems the hops are moldy or something.

Local bottle. Sure it tastes just fine. Not really a stand out APA. Aroma was dominated by malt. The flavours were very muted but still balanced between the malt and hops, maybe even leaning to the malt side.

bb 6/11/09 or best never... sunny golden yellow color with orange tints and a soft white head. there are some spots of lacing... briefly... but only because i just dumped the amber out. it smells very floral... orange blossoms, pale malt (almost pils-ish?), caramel and a bit of spice akin to cinnamon. the flavor is a bit metallic (which is amplified when sampled directly from the bottle?) with notes of pale malt, flowers, caramel and a bitter unpleasant finish. the medium body is a bit oily yet flat and dead on the tongue.

it’s beers like these that make me drink wine... 5/3/4/2/9/2.3

It has been a long time since I have rated a pale ale. This one is okay, really mediocre actually. Clear yellow, white head. Citrus, some grain notes, and herbal hops. Pretty boring.

12 oz bottle. Malt makes upp for most of aroma some light fruity note from one of the three i drank. Gold body with white head and plenty of carbination. Thicker malt presence rather than refreshing flavor for me. Alright pizza beer.

Pretty decent pale ale. Not as much citrus or pine flavor I’m used to with American PA. Very clear and appealing ale. Decent head with alright retention I suppose. Good level of carbonation and the foam adds a good mouthfeel. Not my fave pale ale but its not the worst I’ve had. Would recommend.

Aroma: Malt aroma was decent nothing too much.
Appearance: Light yellow in color, Clear with a thin head.
Flavor: Nice malt flavor then it was light after that.
Palate: Dry finish, with a Decent Mouthfeel.
Overall: Nothing over the top just something to wet the whistle.
