motelpogo (4360), Plzen, Czech Republic Dec 28, 2008 wow! i am surprised i had not got around to rating this before. dark brown with a modest beige head, decent cocoa powder nose, plenty of plum, modest sweetness, some whipped cream and finishes reasonably dry. an easy beer to drink a lot of Papsoe (11421), Frederiksberg, Denmark Dec 16, 2008 On tap. Hazy dark brown with an orange hue and a creamy beige head. Aroma of sweet roasted malts and a little coffee. Medium body, sweetish roasted malts, flower accents and a light underlying fustiness, but nothing to spoil the overall picture. Very subdued bitterness. 280608 Quack-Duck (2202), Bodensee, Germany Nov 1, 2008 on tap at the brewpub. Hazy deep dark brown, nearly black colour, large beige head. Malty nose. Full-bodied with flavours of roasetd malt, caramel, chocolate... Very malty, but not too sweet. This is balanced perfectly. I could drink this all night long. asheft (1040), Marburg, Germany Aug 29, 2008 [on tap at brewpub]
Roasty aroma with vanilla and a little sweet malt. Opaque brown with a tawny sheet on top that dots the glass as the beer is consumed. Almost sherry-like roasty/toasty flavour with definitely some hops in there. Smooth, medium body, moderate carbonation, clean finish. KimJohansen (5208), Copenhagen V, Denmark Aug 28, 2008 Dark brown with medium beige head. Sweet aroma with hints of roasted malt and rye bread. Sweet flavor with that holds roasted malt and caramel. Very mild ands ends sweet.
