Very strong aroma, chocolate coffee and caramel. Full flavour, coffee, chocolate with raspberry and ’n bietje hop, with enough bitterness to keep it from being sicky sweet.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 17, 2009 Had this on tap at Bailey’s Taproom in Portland, OR. Colour... black with dark ruby edges and a thick mocha head. Nose... lightly roasted malt and kind of a berry-like fragrance. Palate... frothy with an interesting tanginess to go with the grainy-roasty malt and yeast. DJMonarch (6941), Northwich, Cheshire, England

With a small gray-bronze head and a deep black-brown body this beer is well balanced and takes on a roasted fruit complexity after several sips. Stout lovers should make sure to get a taster of this beautiful bear of a beer Dubbercody (214), Vancouver, Washington, USA

Black beer with small but fluffy light tan head. Chocolate, roast and traditional slight stout sweetness drive up to fill your nose. The taste follows in line with the nose. A great stout taste with the fine flavors of chocolate, coffee and roast.
Really excellent beer that I think is libel to get lost amongst all the HUGE beers at this years festival. Very impressive beer that I will be seeking out in the Portland Area.
