Golden colour. Thick, creamy head. Buttery, meaty aroma. Malty flavour with notes of salty liquorice. Grassy, bitter finish. A pleasant pilsener.

After an Inbev takeover of Staropramen I recommended this to my cousin in Bautzen. He told me he pays 1/2 the price and says it tastes twice as good. Bud and Miller are good at eliminating any foreign or local beer that would have any taste.I saw this 4 one summer at .59 for a 1/2 ltr.It did not last long nor was it replaced.

First rating
Draught at Hotel Olympic (horribly expensive beer) in Prague.
Golden color, shite creamy head. Not much scent (perhaps due to smoke in the room), a bit malty smell perhaps. Hoppy taste, refreshing. Rather big bitterness. Medium to big body. Bitter in the aftertaste.

The Lure:
A filtered yellow-gold sunshine sustains a healthy, creamy head. Flowery, cheesy Saaz allusions slowly emerge as the temperature approaches room temperature, along with a light caramel waft, but all in all, this is a timid aroma.

The Festivities:
This is the first Bohemian Pilsener I have which is really close to my hometown Amčre ŕ Boire’s Cerna Horŕ. An obvious Saaz flowery cheesiness smoothes out into grassy bitterness, all in a big-bubbled frothy carbonation which is counterbalanced by comfortable and round dry malt husks, reminiscent of hay. This is a low-brow Bohemian Pilsener which will quaff while drawing various opinions as to its quality. An unfiltered version would probably give me a better idea as to if Cerna Horŕ is really that similar.

Transcendence:
The terrasses are finally open in the city, and the restaurants nearby have opened their windows.

Golden color, white head. Bready aroma with hoppy notes. Bready flavor at first, then more and more metal showing. Quite a dry metallic finish.

Superb hoppy beer which offers lip smacking hops and bitterness over a gentle malt body. Delicious and very refreshing beer, one of the hoppiest I've tried in Czech. (Draught at Vycep Piva, Mlada Boleslav station)

On tap, beer no.4 (I think) at the RBESG blind tasting (Modry Abbe, Klatovy)
Poured a hazy light amber colour with a medium sized head that went away at a medium pace. A perfumey nose, somewhat grainyand honeyish...notes of glue? The taste was nice enough. Bitterish, ok hop profile, and again with notes of glue (in a good way if that’s possible). Better than the unfiltered version apparently and probably better on tap than bottled.

(bottle) Clear amber colour with a medium sized frothy, minimal off-white head with nice lace. Rich malty aroma, slightly sweet (honey) and a bit nutty. Well balanced initial sweet maltiness, soft & bitter hoppiness on a medium body with an almost creamy texture. A good one.
