Wulfstan (481), California, USA Feb 11, 2008 Updated: May 1, 2008 This is very nice. It is a deep gold with a thin bu long-lastin white head that leaves some decent lacing. The aroma is very nice, being yeast with strong, nutty grain and hints of herb and citrus. The taste is a full-bodied malty, toasty, nutty grain with bitter herbal, piney, and slightly citrusy hops that lightly dominate the beer nicely, through to the finish which is a nice blend of bitter herbal and piney hops with nutty grain. The flavour is strong from start to finish and the body is fairly thick and oily.
drpimento (556), La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA Dec 10, 2008 Had this some years ago and it was better in my memory. Poured with a quickly fading to almost no head and a tiny bit of lace. Color is a slightly hazy deep amber. Aroma was bitter sweet, malty, a little hop, and grainy. Flavors about the same but stronger in the sweet malt. Hint of green bell pepper of all things. Nothing special, but not bad. Ditto with the finish. Session beer maybe... eicolque (3), , Alabama, USA does not count Oct 19, 2008 Great beer, golden appearance, malty flavor, great balance, great texture. I love this beer. aschafer324 (7), , Wisconsin, USA does not count Oct 19, 2008 No aroma that i can pick up. Nice amber gold color, medium head. Malty, slightly sweet taste but bitter at the same time. Bungalo22 (323), Bridgeport, Connecticut, USA Oct 5, 2008 Poured from the bottle a golden yellow color with a nice fluffy head. The aroma is sweet and floral. I know sweet is not really an aroma character but that is how it hit me. The beer is smooth and balanced on the palate but a bit light bodied. freekyp (840), Thomasville, North Carolina, USA Sep 6, 2008 Vegetables and slight maltiness in the aroma. Pours an effervescent golden with a strong white head. Flavor is lightly malty and grassy with a sharp bitter tang on the end. Traditional Bohemian pilsner style done well.
