Taste has some licorice and once you get past the butter theres a decent amount of roasty malts and chocolate. joohefner (380), Isla Vista, California, USA

| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jan 10, 2008 far too sweet and caramelly for me, needs some hop presence. but, i’m not much for dunkels timfoolery (484), California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jan 4, 2008 Interesting taste to this one. It was almost like it was completely missing the hops (and limited alcohol) and that missing flavor was filled in with a yeasty tinge. Otherwise, this brew was decidedly malty. A definite change from the norm. DTM (541), Winters, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 3, 2008 Poured a dark color. Smooth beer, tasted of chocolate matls. The only negative aspect was the slight yeasty taste. Overall a decent beer.
