16.9 oz. bottle. A red brown color with a tan head that fades quickly. Sweet, sweet smell of vanilla, almonds, and caramel. Creamy mouthfeel with decent carbonation; light to medium bodied. Taste is yeasty, malty sweet with vanilla and a banana-raison bread flavor. This is dessert in a bottle. july 2004

Pours dark brown with ruby hues and a mostly receding light tan head. Aroma of toffee, syrup, plums. Taste is brown malt, chocolate, raisins, and sweet bread. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, cloyingly sweet with moderate carbonation. Sweet and lightly malty dunkel, could use more complexity.

(Bottle) Pours a dark brown color with a tan head. Roasted toffee and coffee aroma. Taste is pretty malty, but a little bit astringent. Sweet and syrupy... especially towards the end. I didn’t hate it, but I do think they could have done better.

Draught at BBF07. Had it down as 4.8%, but the ratings of this one resembles my notes better than those of the 11° which is 4.3% anyway. OK roasted aroma. Dark brown colour. Stable tan head. The flavour is quite sweet with some brown sugar and without much bitterness. On the sweet side, but pleasant enough.

Bottle. Moderate malt notes of raosted and nutty, no noticable hops, and maybe earth for the yeast. In the background there is either vanilla or black pepper. Head is bubbly white with fair lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is a clear dark brown. Flavor starts lightly sweet and acidic and finishes lightly sweet and a touch bitter. Palate is light to medium, watery with a soft carbonation. Really nothing outstanding but a good drinking beer to go with pub food.

12 oz bottle, nice dark amber brown color with little head retention. Nice nutty and toffee aroma on the malt side with a hint of noble hop aroma. Very well balanced and very drinkable beer. Malt flavor with nutty toasty flavors. Very nice beer.
