Taste is pretty malty, but a little bit astringent. Sweet and syrupy... especially towards the end. I didn’t hate it, but I do think they could have done better. MiP (9162), Sřnderborg, Denmark
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 10, 2007 Draught at BBF07. Had it down as 4.8%, but the ratings of this one resembles my notes better than those of the 11° which is 4.3% anyway. OK roasted aroma. Dark brown colour. Stable tan head. The flavour is quite sweet with some brown sugar and without much bitterness. On the sweet side, but pleasant enough. kp (8600), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 28, 2007 Bottle. Moderate malt notes of raosted and nutty, no noticable hops, and maybe earth for the yeast. In the background there is either vanilla or black pepper. Head is bubbly white with fair lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is a clear dark brown. Flavor starts lightly sweet and acidic and finishes lightly sweet and a touch bitter. Palate is light to medium, watery with a soft carbonation. Really nothing outstanding but a good drinking beer to go with pub food. vitaminT (9), O’Fallon, Missouri, USA does not count | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 22, 2007 12 oz bottle, nice dark amber brown color with little head retention. Nice nutty and toffee aroma on the malt side with a hint of noble hop aroma. Very well balanced and very drinkable beer. Malt flavor with nutty toasty flavors. Very nice beer.
