Bottle: Dark cherry mahogany color, nice light tan head and no lacing. Nose of tar, soy and vinegar, light paper and dark malt. No hops. The flavor is lightly roasty with a sharp bitterness, odd misplaced sweetness and a body that doesn’t really blend anything together. Very unbalanced, all over the place, but the individual components aren’t total shite, so it’s still drinkable.

Brown color. Elegant aroma of cereals with a touch of roasted malt. Medium body, evident residual sweetness, with the classic caramel/roasted malt mix, with a touch of honey and cereals. Good bitterness level. A very pleasant, above the average Dunkel.

The 12 ounce bottle poured a beautiful, crystal clear, deep reddish brown beverage with a small creamy off-white head that was mostly diminishing but left some good lacing on the glass. The aroma was rich and sweet filling my nose with banana, caramel, roast coffee and dark roasted malt. The body was medium-full with soft carbonation and a rich, thick chewy texture. The flavor started out medium-sweet with all the tastes described by the aroma. The finish was medium-long and the sweetness lasted throughout.

Poured dark with very little red, off white head that stayed with a little dissipation, this was a thirst quenching dark beer but thin, frangrance and taste of dark roasted malts, with a little creaminess, some bread in the fragrance, mouthfeel was thin almost watery, little coffee on the tongue, I was expecting more, I was dissapointed.

Dark brown with some ruby highlights, slight head goes away fast. Aroma struck me as sour asparagus, not particularly pleasant. Flavor was light chocolate, a hint of coffee, and then a slightly pungent hop oriented finish, quickly drying out. Not inspiring, but not awful either.

The aroma is very sweet. It has root beer, brown sugar, malt, paper (yeast?), but almost no hops. The appearance is like a brown cola with a similar head. The flavor is very sweet (like candy) just like the aroma but there is bitterness there revealing some hops. The sweetness is like cane sugar (nice) but the hops are like chemicals and therefore not good. The palate is typical for the style. This is one of those beers that has good traits destroyed by unpleasant bitterness.

dark amber pour with highlites. Nose and taste of dark malts, brown sugar, some clove and honey and lots of caramel. Nothing to write home about, but far from a drain pour..if that makes sense.
