| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Feb 17, 2007 Pours clear orange with a foamy white head which recedes steadily. Leaves some lacing.
This is an odd duck in that it has a pretty big opening hop nose. Definitely Saaz, but some other stuff, too. It’s almost like a Belgian hop profile, only not as classy. There are notes of clove and nutmeg.
The body is sweet and malty, another surprise after the hoppy nose. No bitterness here. Pretty light body with a long malty finish. More than once I feel like I smell or taste latex. There are plenty of better options in this style, including other examples by this brewery. nick76 (2676), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Feb 10, 2007 The aroma has malt, (Saaz?) Noble type hops, and Band-Aids. The appearance is deep gold with a finger and a half head. The flavor is like the aroma and is quite astringent in a chemical kind of way. The palate is thin but OK for the style. This is not an easy drinking beer for me. Hmmmm after reading the commercial description I am guessing this is revenge for exporting Budweiser. bb (2930), Martinez, California, USA

Sweet malt with grassy hops. Sweetness lingers. Some spice and metallic bits. Hoppier than I would have thoguht. lagermonkey (597), Marietta, Georgia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 8, 2006 First comment: Winter Warmer my butt.
Pours a clear bright gold, lots of sheeting lace. Frothy ivory head and fizzy. Smells of sweet fruity malt. Grassy and herbal hops.
Up front is grassy sweet malt, followed by light herbal hops and a driness in the finish. Some not too pleasant metallic flavors peeking through from time to time. Hops are most present in the finish and the aftertaste, slowly building as you finish the bottle. Crisp and eventually becomes quite bitter. Really good stuff and easy drinking on a hot summer day. Winter? I don’t know. Good Czech pilsner. Check it out. beervana (781), Libertyville, Illinois, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 24, 2006 Poured a clear gold with a small white head. Sweet corny and malty aroma. Sweet malty flavor with a moderately bitter long finish. The finish felt wet. Does that make sense? GG (1650), NorCal, California, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | May 22, 2006 This was Dr. Jekyl/Mr. Hyde in a bottle. The aroma was a tad off, but it was grassy but a tad skunky. Appearance was a bright yellow with a decent head which melted quickly. Mouthfeel wasn’t harsh, but light and crisp. Flavor were like sucking on a dirty penny, VERY metallic which was pretty horrendous but I was thirsty so I drank quickly. I could tell there was some grassy hops and spiciness to this beer, but the metallic taste just erased any enjoyability I could take from this beer. I would like to revisit this beer again, because if it weren’t for the "sucking on a dirty penny" taste, it might not be bad.
