First comment: Winter Warmer my butt. Pours a clear bright gold, lots of sheeting lace. Frothy ivory head and fizzy. Smells of sweet fruity malt. Grassy and herbal hops. Up front is grassy sweet malt, followed by light herbal hops and a driness in the finish. Some not too pleasant metallic flavors peeking through from time to time. Hops are most present in the finish and the aftertaste, slowly building as you finish the bottle. Crisp and eventually becomes quite bitter. Really good stuff and easy drinking on a hot summer day. Winter? I don’t know. Good Czech pilsner. Check it out.

Not sure why such a low rating on this beer! It is a nice Czech Lager! Poured clear and crisp with a nice layer of foam that alsted the whole beer. Nice hops, with good bittering at the back. Extremely clear and light effervescence. Not just a good winter lager, but good for summer too!

5L bottle. rich golden color with slight malt nose. lacy, creamy white head is attractive and invigorating. malt character is full with a slight honey tone, and slight fire brewed note. hop profile rounds out nicely to a very delicate floral/bitter balance. beautiful example of a bohemian lager!

This seems to be a malted-up version of their pilsener. It has a thick palate for the style and the breadish malts dominate - it comes off more as a export/helles than a pilsener. This is pretty crap for a "winter" beer but not bad in and of itself. Once again ratebeerians fail at rating light coloured lagers.

(04.30.06) One pint, 0.9 oz brown bottle from DiCarlo’s, Mundelein, IL. 5.8% ABV. Poured golden yellow with average sized white head. Soft carbonation. Sweet malt aroma. Light-to-medium bodied lager that starts dry with hint of malt sweetness. Corn and nutty flavors. Finished dry with light malt fade. Slight metallic aftertaste. Good drinkable malty beer.

12 oz. Golden with a medium-sized head that lasts. Aroma is honey with the earthy honeycomb. Flavor is spicy honey, turning to a grassy, delicately bittersweet finish. Light-medium bodied and smooth with a slight tongue tingle.

Color of a new penny (seems the reviews vary greatly on color, odd). Aroma of malt, sweet bread. Sweet up front changing to bitter in the finish. Enjoyable.

I believe Irishboy sent me this. If so thanks, Richard. Pours a bright, clear golden color and holds a frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Looks pretty beer commercial perfect to be honest, but the head collapses onto itself a bit too fast. Arome is grains, honey, malt and a bit of grassiness. Cleana nd light on the first sip. It’s sweet (malt/honey) throught he middle with a vegetal bitterness toward the finish. I don’t really know what the best is in this style, but I’d be shocked if this was it. Feels nice ont he tongue though and delivers the lager experience from a mothyfeel perspective. Just doesn’t taste very good.
