dirkbreedveld (222), Netherlands Nov 30, 2006 Nice dark beer, honey in the nose and aftertaste, in my opinion could be therefor a lottle heavier in alcohol to make it more masculine. Easy to drink.
Sigmund (1938), Hafrsfjord, Norway Aug 31, 2008 330 ml bottle, thanks to oh6gdx and chris_o. ABV is 5.5%. Cloudy dark brown colour, nearly black, reddish in the highlights. Creamy and lasting tan head. The aroma is malty and somehow "unfresh" (I wouldn’t have thought of "beef stock" myself, but yes, you’ve got a point there, yngwie!), the honey is there, but without the light and floral notes that usually accompany it. No fruitiness at all in the aroma. The flavour is somewhat better: plenty of malts with a moderate roastiness, fairly sweet, notes of mild coffee, caramel, some chocolate and of course honey. Hardly any fruitiness, and not much bitterness. Not particularly well balanced, and is far from being my favourite porter. NoiZe (905), Zeist, Netherlands Aug 28, 2008 Brown colored brew. Malty aroma with some honey notes. Flavor is bittersweet and watery. Some honey there too. Bullit (533), Zeist, Netherlands Aug 24, 2008 Dark brown colour, small off-white head. Aroma has faint malts. Flavour has some light caramel malts. Some honey flavours. Finishes sweet. BeerBiker (1186), Odense, Denmark Aug 13, 2008 [Tasting at Scheffel.] Slight darkbrown look and similar head. Notes of honey and caramelmalts. Over average carbonated. Borresteijn (543), Amstelveen, Netherlands Aug 11, 2008 Bottle from the Cracked Kettle, @ home. Dark brown colour, beige head. Aroma of roasted malts and honey. Flavour is of a watery porter with a hint of honey added. Nah.
