Beautifully deep reddy brown, brief creamy head settles to just a ring. Slightly medicinal aroma, something like syrup of figs perhaps, but also with the sharpness of pine or cedar. Lovely soft palate, soft carbonation. Decent malty body, but there is quite a bit of soap, perhaps even perfumed soap, from the hops. Finish is back to more traditional raw hop flowers. Does not elicit any particularly strong feelings from me - it is flavoursome and pretty drinkable. SHIG (1731), Oberoffligen, Germany Oct 27, 2008 Bottle @ LCRBM 08: After watching this beer flood all over Joris it settled to pour a purpleish brown with limited head do the carbonation already exploding. The aroma was wild berries and malt. Taste is juniper and some other spices along with malt. bierkoning (5134), La Tropica, Netherlands Oct 26, 2008 Bottle @ LCRBM. Massive gusher. Juniper and spices in the aroma. Spicy, but also malty flavor with juniper. Too spicy for me to be enjoyable. JorisPPattyn (4691), Antwerpen, Belgium Oct 26, 2008 Exploding to no head left (!); deep brown-purple beer. Sweet-fruity, cake- or piecrust nose, alcohol. Very complex, vinous taste, bit of aldehydes, fusels, sparadrap - no doubt the juniper. Medium to well bodied, slick, yet refreshing. Very complex beer, if more fusely than fruity. Bottle fermentation totally out of control. Thanks, Dean! maeib (4141), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England Oct 1, 2008 Bottled - St Albans BF. Lost more than half of it when it gushed. Fortunately they allowed me to pay less than half the price too which doesn’t happen when you buy at a shop. Muddy brown with an off-white head. Fruity malty aroma and taste with added berry fruits in the mouth and a fair dollop of yeastiness. Obvious overcarbonation. Not good on so many levels.
