glkaiser (1029), Seattle, Washington, USA Jan 3, 2009 On tap at Brouwer’s. Clear amber w/ huge head served in its own glassware. Malty sweetness dominates, especially in the finish. Vanilla and caramel w/ brown sugar sweetness. Wasn’t sure of the % when I tried it, but you could tell it’s a big one. Can’t taste much of the alcohol, but thick and sweet. A little metallic bitterness in the finish. OK. WeeHeavySD (2188), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Dec 31, 2008 Tap @ Hams. Nice brew I have to say. Pours orange with a bright white head. Nose is sweet and rich. Taste is sweet, yeasty. Some fruit and smooth. Really not hot for 11.5% either. BillKismet (1518), Seattle, Washington, USA Dec 15, 2008 Watery-looking bronze amber with crisp head. Honeyed-amber malt aroma with pleasant, understated Belgian yeast notes, tinge of candi malt, and perhaps some pepperiness. Easy-going melding of malts, candi sugar and reserved Belgian yeastiness. You could never guess the alcohol is half the actual level. Dangerously drinkable stuff! goozen (840), Leiden, Netherlands Dec 14, 2008 Bottle at Kerstbierfestival, Essen: Under the name of "Ne Prelaat" for the commemoration of the 850 years of the municipality Essen. Clear amber coloured brew thats very sweet due the high alcohol. Ober (605), Best, Netherlands Dec 7, 2008 A clear red/orange colored beer, with a small white head. The aroma of fruits like cherries, with caramel malts. The taste of alcohol, citrus fruits and sweet. The aftertaste is sweet with alcohol in the back.
