Commercial Description:
Kloster is brewed in Thailand under license and "close supervision" of Kloster Brauerei in Germany.

Note: Kloster seems to be an InBev brand ("Third most importand brand in the Beck & Co. portfolio.") brewed in Thailand, first by Thai Amarit (from 1975-2002), then by Boon Rawd (2003+).

(Bottle 33 cl) Looks like a licensed German beer, but I haven’t been able to track down "Klosterbrauerei Neustadt A/D" and for good reason, as it seems to be a completely fake company! Weird... Anyways, the beer is rather pale with a pretty fine head. Nice aromatic hops in the nose. Mild with some hop-bite on the palate. Not that bad. Basically the same company as produces "Singha" - "Boon Rawd". 101103

Bottled. Pale yellow with dish water head. Pleasantly dry and clean. Rather firm, but a light touch of vegetables disturbs. The finish is hoppier and more bitter than is common among Asian beers.

Canned (thanks omhper!). Golden colour, small white head. Aroma of vegetables and bread dough. Flavour is grassy and malty. Dry hops and very mouthdrying beer. Unpleasant.

The German brewery is entirely fictional. The beer has a golden colour. The aroma is malty with a hint of grassy hops. The palate has a creamy maltiness and faint grassiness. Rounded cookie dough notes and a balanced finish put this ahead of most mainstream Asian lagers.

Can (canned 12/2005). Yellow color, no head. Slightly fruity aroma. Typical tropical lager: light, fruity (apples), boring. Not much German here except the name.

Quite thin and fizzy, minimal aroma, minimal taste, still drier than most Thai beers, not so good, boring.

Pale golden coloured. Slightly hoppy and metallic aroma. Clean and crisp with a rather bitter finish.

A skunk playing in the hay aroma with the taste of a lemon wedge sitting in old water...Same gimmick as their Klassik Lager...Fake brewery name (Kloster Brauerei Neustadt), green bottle and label except this time they push things even further by writing the above commercial description...Horrible, run of the mill swill...
