rauchbier (2882), Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, England Oct 4, 2004 Tap, at the brewery. Gold excellent lasting white head and gentle condition. Good grassy hops and sweet maltiness, almost worty in the nose. Quite dry and chalky with hops flavour just dominating the graininess in the mouth. Good solid hop bitter finish.
MartinT (4497), Montreal, Quebec, Canada May 29, 2006 Impressions from a makeshift, Canadian keller:
-A veil of head drapes the clear, deep golden hues.
-Bready, toasty pilsner maltiness is nicely laid out in the aroma.
-Straw slowly dries out the cushiony pils malt flavors.
-The full maltiness and doughy body is very enjoyable.
-Finishes predictably, but still pleasantly, with decorous herbal hop bitterness.
Bottle; no date. Rastacouere (5421), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Jul 6, 2006 Superb lacing covers the gentle gold body with tiny carbonation. The slight yeastiness is overwhelmed by a generous dose of malt, bready and supported by grassy background. The integration of those multiple facets is nothing, but impressive. Greenish taste, dry and just grassy all the way, with surprisingly no floweriness. Just well extracted malt. Slick for a pils, rather rich and gently carbonated. Skinnyviking (3024), Copenhagen, Denmark Jul 8, 2007 Draught. Medium high fluffy and quickly disappearing white head. Clear golden body. Light fruity lemon like aroma. Heavily hopped dry and bitter flavor. Low carbonation Long and bitter aftertaste. Interesting. duff (5407), Sydney, Australia, Surrey, England May 30, 2007 Draught@Klosterbräu, Bamberg. Nice pils. Crisp, fresh, grassy. Some nice Grainy/bready malt characters, and some lightly fruity, gassy hop notes. taste very fresh, and the finish is bitter and refreshing.
