| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Nov 20, 2009 Draught at EsBF09. Mild spicy aroma, indescribable cookie spice. Nice deep red brown colour. Small stable grey head. The flavour is slightly sweet with the same spice as the aroma, probably cardamum. Has a little sourness in the finish, which does not really suit the beer. Too perfumy. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 15, 2009 It’s hazy, red mahogany with a creamy head. The aroma has notes of malt and quite a lot of Christmas spices, mostly cinnamon and muscat. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, caramel and lots and lots of spices, mostly cinnamon and muscat. It IS very Christmassy, but IMO it’s not really nice, when a beer is to spicy. Pours deep amber with a medium, creamy, beige head. Lovely spicy aroma. Cloves, cinnamon, herbs and some fine caramel. Medium carbonation, lovely creamy mouthfeel - especially for the ABV. Sweet flavour, good cinnamon and caramel. Lovely, elegant spicy Christmas ale. Yum!
