Smooth, no aftertaste.
None of that ’’powdery residue’’ that some popular beers leave.
A consistent quality, making me think that this is a a carefully refined beer.
I would love to take this to a regional beer festival and put it out there with some of the favorite craft beers to see what the tasters would say on a beer to beer taste test. A very good value too.
My wife made a nice pick with this little gift. checkmatei1 (630), Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Oct 10, 2008 Bottle: Poured a light amber color with not much head. The aroma was bland, maybe some roasted malt. The flavor was rather bland as well. It was just alright. LinusStick (1844), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Oct 3, 2008 Ugh...this is an effin’ mess. Aroma was near nothing. Just a hint of dark malt and nothing else. Pour was a nice dark amber with a one finger off white head. Taste was pretty nasty. Vicks Vapo-Rub with puke and roasted malt. Truly awful. | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 28, 2008 Bought this beer out of curiousity because of the pric. There isn’t a whole lot of nose as first, just some roasted, malty aroma. The taste was suprising, with some mellow hop notes. A bit of fruityness with some carmel sweetness at the end. Nothing to get too excited about, but great for the price! glennmastrange (857), hobe sound, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 3, 2008 Bottle. Light malt note of cereal and roasted, moderate pine and herb aromas for the hops, light leather for the yeast and wood, berry and dried spice in the background. Head is small, fizzy, white with good lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is dark amber. Flavor is moderately acidic to start and finishes moderately acidic and bitter. Palate is light to medium, oily and has a lively carbonation. A nice spicey beer deserving of the IPA classification. Palidor19 (1773), Brandon, Florida, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 17, 2008 not much to this, its feels a bit understated. The malts and the hops seem to be in the back burner. their is nothing redeeming about this beer. it is what it is. nick76 (2657), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jun 17, 2008 The aroma is malty with grassy hops and a touch of honey. The appearance is light amber with a nice head. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is OK. This is drinkable but not that great. Ibrew2or3 (2761), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jun 11, 2008 Big thanks to fishingnet for scoring me this IIPA. 12oz bottle, labeled Knights Head Pale Ale, pours clear copper with tan head. The aroma has crystal malts mixing with fruit sweetness coming from plums and oranges. It also has a bit of a peppery note. The taste is much the same with mildly roasted malts mingling with citrus orange hops, fruity esters and some pepper. The flavors don’t really come together all that well for me.
