Pours a clear copper with a small white head that leaves minimal lacing. Aroma of caramel malt, alcohol, and citrus. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium mouthfeel with a mild to moderate amount of bitterness and slightly hot alcohol. Not bad. bigrond (1055), factoryville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Feb 24, 2008 had this under the ’knights head’ label. It went from an IPA to a Pale Ale and it’s retired?? Well, it’s not a very good pale ale so it must have been a horrible IPA. either way - the high percentile racking for this beer is surprising to me. I didn’t care for.it - but I like the alc. content. jason (1624), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 28, 2008 Bottle. Labeled as "Knights Head". Poured a clear copper body with thin head. Aroma is light citrus, malt and mold. Flavor is slightly bitter, light citrus, more on the sweet malt side. Surprise to find this somewhat drinkable. sheatripper (863), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 18, 2008 Bottle. "Knights Head Pale Ale." When I saw that label, I figured I was getting some kind of sessionable APA or EPA. OK, so its a 2IPA at 8.2%. Flagrant false advertising, but why complain? Poured clear orange/copper with an off- white frothy head. Candied orange aroma, with floral hops and a touch of butterscotch. Flavor of gummy-bear malts cut with a sharp citrus hop addition, finishing quite piney. Slick oily palate with moderate carbonation. Not sure what to make of this. Can’t say it’s a great 2IPA, but an interesting discovery at the Polish market. kkearn (1013), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

Big grapefruity hop aroma, with substantial support from caramel malt. Flavor is malty up front, with citric hops coming in for the finish. Long, mild hop finish. Average IPA. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

cloudy burnt orange, wispy beige head, drips of lace, big sweet caramel, pine, and grapefruit aroma, the body gets stickier and stickier, lots of sticky sweet flavor with essence of tangerine and pine, light bitterness stays out of the way but provides for a soft bitter finish, grapefruit bursts forth about halfway through,

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 31, 2007 12oz bottle. Pours a nice orange amber with a slight hint of haze. A finger worth of poofy white head forms on pour, settles into a single-layer bubble and leaves nice rings of lace. Aroma is a bit strange and disjointed with hints of hoppy orange, strangely placed malt and a touch of cardboard that suggests this beer may be past its prime. Flavor almost fared better, with all the requisite American double IPA characteristics: pine, grapefruit-like citrus, solid hop bitterness, soothing (not boozy) alcohol and a good dose of malt for solid balance. Unfortunately this was followed up with a weird almost chalky flavor, perhaps from a slight clash between the hops and malts used. It wasn’t intense enough to ruin the beer but its presence at all requires some flavor points deducted. Full, solid mouthfeel with a big, thick, slightly sticky palate. Not a bad beer; not a great beer. DrnkMcDermott (1861), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 27, 2007 12 oz. bottle. From my first trade with <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/Shipments-Profile.asp so perhaps over two years old. I notice an aging malt smell upon opening. Pours a dark IPA color under a bustling orangish head. As the description notes, it’s not a hop monster, just amped up enough to try cellaring. By now this has a mostly resiny hop note, but no extreme bitterness. Top-loaded with IPA malts, giving way to a bit of alcoholic heat that I welcome. Not close to what hopheads would want, though I enjoyed this anyway.
