anaheim1983 (111), Anaheim, California, USA Jun 13, 2006 Saved this for my 100 rating as this is from my home town as a kid. tweelve ounce bottle, clear copper, slight head, herbal hop nose, sweet malt flavor with herbal hop flavor as well. Godd mouthfeel and good finish.
cheapdark (1686), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 1, 2009 A little darker than a pale yellow lager and a little hazy. Has some hops aroma but it is not forward notr clear in the olfactory, more of a laid back smell. Initial flavor is not IIPA as styled here, more like an APA or possibly an IPA. Flavor is not over the top bitter at all. I will recommend this style be changed to APA. Finsih is bitter medium linger. Naka (496), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 29, 2008 12 oz bottle courtesy of Juart. Pours a slightly hazy orange amber color with a very small tight fizzy off-white head. Aroma of strong floral hops and grapefruit rinds. A little caramel as well. A little bit of chalky undertone. Flavor is well-balanced. A strong malty caramel flavor with a sort of muddled hop flavor. The bitterness does not really hit you right away, but it does sort of sneak up. Rich oily body. Finishes with a mild bitterness. Not great, but very drinkable for a IIPA that costs 20 bucks a case. FROTHINGSLOSH (1612), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 20, 2008 Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a caramel-amber color with a large orange-khaki head. The aroma was sweet fruity hops. The flavor was bitter and fruity/piney hops. There was a light sweet malty undertone. Mild and quite quaffable. Solid. argo0 (6334), Washington DC, USA Dec 4, 2008 12oz bottle. Small beige head atop lightly hazed amber body. Aroma is medium sweet, cantaloupe, pineapple, some orange, light pepper. Taste is medium sweet, herbal/pine, some alcohol. Medium body, light acidity. Cakes (3), New Bloomfield, Pennsylvania, USA does not count Oct 27, 2008 I was quite impressed bt this beer.
Smooth, no aftertaste.
None of that ’’powdery residue’’ that some popular beers leave.
A consistent quality, making me think that this is a a carefully refined beer.
I would love to take this to a regional beer festival and put it out there with some of the favorite craft beers to see what the tasters would say on a beer to beer taste test. A very good value too.
My wife made a nice pick with this little gift.
