UnionMade (621), Connecticut, USA Mar 18, 2003 Very, very nice brown ale. Pours a clear deep umber, with minimal head, mostly just a thin lace around the edges. Very dark, almost porter-like. Aroma is heavy on the roasted malt. Flavor is much the same. Very clean tasting, with a lot of roastiness, a touch of caramel or toffee, and a subtle nuttiness, most likely from the ringwood yeast. Excellent mouthfeel, with light carbonation. I've never thought of a beer as smooth until this one.
