Whoa. They make this beer sound much better just in the name. It looks ugly as a can, but it looks like it could be trying to say its an old standard beer that your grandfather drank out of a dead japs skull. Very light colored and light flavored. Not too skunky. Its no Pabst, however.

Sparkling golden with largish speckled white head. Almost no aroma. Taste is light and a bit biscuity. Easy to drink since there isn’t much to it. Neither good nor bad, but you can’t beat the price: $10/24/16oz

Halfway decent cheap beer. Try doing a blind taste test with this stuff to show how stupid your friends are. They will like it. More flavor than the Busch, Bud, etc, But don’t let it get even remotely warm. =]

I am rating this from memory. Granted, after drinking something of this caliber, any memory at all is probably a miracle. In college this was the beer you drank when you had no money or only money earned on returnables. In 2000 it was still only $7.99 a case. The first thing I think of when I think about GA is waking up the next morning and my kidneys hurt like hell. And not just me, but all the guys I lived with too. Truly an abomination of zymurgy!!!

I bought this many times before I was a ratebeerian, however, this brew is rated as I drink. This is the economy beer of the Golden Ale/Blonde Ale style, it is hard to believe this is not a pale lager. Cost is 30 cents per can when purchased in a case JR’s Beer Warehouse in Rochester. Date code on attractive gold and red can is 1888, aged well. I see it won the Great American Beer award sometime in the past. Ubiquitous pale yellow American lager beer color. Lots of continuous streams of carbonation rising within. Replenishing white head that is about 1/8 inch thick. Aroma is sorta clean yeasty with corn background. Taste is typical lager, perhaps a bit course. Has a unique industrial flavor, common with cheaper pale yellow lagers. Not much different than all those other pale yellow lagers. Interesting how this compares to Hereford & Hops Whitetail Ale and Ballantine XXX Ale which are also in this style category. This may be better that both just slightly but at least it is on par. Save your cash, if you like those other two beers you should give this a whirl. Hereford and hops may be just a tad better as far as flavor goes. Finish is creamy-ish and can be dealt with to a certain extent. Not sure if this would qualify as a lawn mowing beer, but it is cheap, hence my namesake. No hints of hops and is a little corny on the finish but it is not quite as bad as those Big City Brews.

Someone gave it a medal a while ago, and I think that was a good choice. It’s a beer that has a time and a place, actually more of just a time, and that time is when you want to get effed. It’s so much less offensive than other cheap beers that I can’t help but rate it well for it is a tool and a successful one at that.

Pretty basic stuff. Corny sweet and barely noticeable hops. Thin watery palate, but easy drinking, and extremely cheap.
