Growler. A dark brown with a lazing brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of roasted malt, fruit, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel, roasted malt, and alcohol, as well as a touch of soy sauce, leading to a dry roasted finish where the alcohol lingers.

From growler. Pours dark brown and with a small tan head. Light hoppy and mild roasted aroma, light acidic touch and alcohol presence. Smooth. Mild carbonation mouthfeel. Smooth roasted malt flavoured with a light coffee reminiscence. Roasted and bitter finish. Nice ad smooth, easy and yet with a bite. Lovely balance. Lasting bitter and chocolate malty finish

19-Jan-08 (Draft: Connoisseur’s Session, 2008 Great Alaskan Beer and Barley Wine Festival in Anchorage, AK) This is a good, straight-forward Imperial Stout. It’s roasty, medium sweet, moderately bitter and finishes with a nice coffee flavor. The nose is roasty with coffee notes. Full-bodied on the palate, sweet and bitter, showing nice balance. Dark-brown and opaque except at the very edges. The tan head settles to a wide ring. Nothing crazy or over the top with the beer, it’s just well-made and a joy to drink.
