Pours a thick black with a small tan head that diminishes quickly. Taste is more dark fruit, roasted ashy malt, and chocolate. Smooth and sweet with hardly any bitterness. Long, dry finish of chocolate and nuts. Excellent after-taste that lingers well after swallowing. My favorite Baltic Porter so far. dkachur (2390), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Aug 9, 2008 Updated: Oct 23, 200933cl bottle shared with Matt7215 and his brother, his bottle (thanks Matt). May or may not have been a 2003 or 2004 vintage. Pours a nice inky brown with a small mocha head. Aroma is major anise, prunes, alcohol, and roasty malts. The flavour is really nice, and in one word I would describe it as balanced. Big sweetness up front, dark fruits, roasty malt, hint of coffee, but with a very dry astringent finish that works perfectly with the preceding sweetness. No hint of booze whatsoever. Decently complex, though I wouldn’t say that it’s a stand-out in that respect. I’ve been craving this style, and it’s something I’d rather have on a brisk winter evening, but for the time being it hit the spot, and I really enjoyed it. Top notch stuff I wish I could get locally! Borresteijn (1426), Amsterdam, Netherlands
