dark beer with a solid head. Although oak/wood flavors convey with the beer, it has little finish and is disappointing...

Black in color with a lasting tan off white head which fades rather fast, Aroma very molasses with chocolate notes with small hints of alcohol. Taste very watered down with hints of the chocolate and semi sticky molasses.

(cleaning out my beer bottle collection as pictured in my profile and utilizing ratebeer.com) As I recall, this was one of my favorite porters. I actually kept this bottle. Incredible mix of chocolate, dark malts, and roasted coffee.

Pours a dark chocolate brown with a large chocolate head that fades rather quickly leaving spotty lacing. Aroma is chocolate, dark malts, bourbon, and a bit of molasses. The taste is very smooth.....almost a bit too flat, but very drinkable - chocolate, roasted/burnt malts. Very balanced in my book. A great porter for the price.

Bottle at The Diamond. This beer poured very dark, almost black with a red hue to it. Small to no head. The nose was almost whiskey like, but not the taste. A delicious and complex flavor, with hints of chocolate and burnt malts. Great carbonation too. What surprised me was how thin the mouthful was, but how intense and full the flavor is, and with so much carbonation it is almost soda like.

Amazing! Smells great (dark chocolate, hoppy, malty), looks great (deeeeeep black-brown and the head retains that color) and tastes great! I have learned a special Finnish phrase and this beer makes me say it: Henkilökunta! Lisää viinaa! (Staff! we need more liquor!)
