Wow. Pours black as forever, with a thick brown head that lingers. Incipit is a complex burst of spicy florals. Mouthfeel is oily in the best sense. Has a gentle bitterness that doesn’t really become noticeable until the finish... (just like sex!).

Draught, 2007. The color is nearly black, the head is firm and lasting. The aroma brings chocolate to mind. Smooth mouthfeel. The taste is a complex combination of chocolate, roasted coffee beans and a touch of smoke. An astounding beer, considering it comes from a major producer of run-of-the-mill lager

nice thick black malt drink. big head. coffee. slight bitterness in the end should be more thick. surprisingly good. HBF09 RA-version: sour and bitter, toasty black malts shine through, sweetish watery salty, lemony / sweet grapefruit. flat mouth (no carbonation)

Pours black with a lasting thick, tan head. Aroma of molasses, caramel, and coffee, Taste of caramel and coffee slides into a lasting bitter finish. Med mouthfeel. Very nice porter. Mouthfeel could be thicker. That’s my only complaint.

Bottle thanks to DragonStout. Poured a thick brown color with ruby highlights and a thin tan head that receded to a ring. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, and light fruit. Lightly sweet malt entry leads into a relatively bland, chalky chocolate flavor with a bit of fruitiness on the finish. Smooth, but somewhat watery. Not really bad, just pretty plain. Thanks Brian.

Bottle.Appealing big, frothy tan head atop a black body. The aroma is full with roasted malt, chocolate and caramel with hints of creamed coffee and caramel and a touch of smoke. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. The finish is moderately to heavily bitter with a bit of sweetness. Fairly long lasting. Medium body and lively carbonation. The texture is between watery and creamy — a nice balance. Well constructed.

deep black with 1/4 inch brown head... intresting fruity aroma with a real dark smoked flavor when you drink it.
