Pours a very dark brown as it flows out of the bottle. Once in the glass, it is a rich black with a tan head. Plenty of molasses in the nose, along with a little malt. The flavor is of coffee and a little brown sugar. Medium body with a smooth bitterness. Finish is warm, with a bitter, but not unwelcome, aftertaste. yespr (12411), Copenhagen O, Denmark

Pours a good dark brown colour with a steady deep tan head. Offers up a typical porter aroma of dark fruits and berries and chocolate malts. Fine flavours of chocolate, and dark roast coffee, with the dark fruits coming through with touches of sweetness. Has a lingering bitterness on the palate. It was thinner than I was expecting, but still very drinkable. cgarvieuk (4214), Edinburgh, Scotland

Black body with a long-lasting foamy tan head. Roasty malt flavour has non-rich coffee grain notes. Medium-full body. Quite a nice porter. thenick (746), North Bellmore, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jan 5, 2008 Rating #400. Bottle. Pours pitch black with a brown head. Aroma is roasted malt with a bit of chocolate and plum notes detected as well. Taste is heavy roasted malt up front, with detectable chocolate and dark fruit, and a surprisingly high alcohol burn for the amount of alcohol actually in the beer. Solid offering, but I was a bit disappointed.
