Pours opaque black with thick dark, brown head. The aroma is almost vinous - malts and chocolate, molasses and dark fruit. The flavor starts with lots of bitter cocoa and burnt toast. The subtle sweetness of the malts transition to more chocolate and some hop flavor. The finish has some hops and some fruit - and lots of chocolate. The mouthfeel is quite thick and full-bodied - but smooth and creamy thanks to the carbonation.

Bottle 0.33 l. Opaque black with nice brown lacy head, looks fabulous. Fresh milk chocolate nose. Flavor is initially roasty bitter and sour, but reveals creamy coffee and sweet chocolate, and little fruitiness. A tad watery body, sour and easy drink. Yet good.

Bottle. Molasses, dark brown coloring. No head, save for an enticing brownish bubble ring around the glass. Chocolate, malty, almost fudge-like to the tongue offset by carbonation. Quick finish. Quite pleasurable for a porter.
